It was beautiful out today. The air was warm, it wasn't raining, and the brightened gray sky from the overcast made the fresh green of the foliage really pop out. From where Corinne now stood, facing the trees that lined the cemetary, she could even begin to see some new flowers beginning to bud. Just a few more days of rain... she thought and smiled to herself. Spring will finally be official.. and then when they bloom, we'll know that summer is on its way. Corinne took a deep breath in, trying to imagine being engulfed in summer heat and the scent of wild flowers. She closed her eyes and let a short gust of wind pick up her long straight hair and tossle it a bit in it's grasp. Quickly, she let out a defeated breath.
.. Maybe, when I open my eyes again, the flowers will already be in bloom... a girl can hope..? Peeking out her left eye just the slightest of bits, Corinne saw the budding bushes whose green branches were still unspecked with the color of fresh flowers. She sighed once more and opened her eyes. Worth a try...
With a shrug to herself, Corinne turned back toward the path and continued on her walk. She had been inside enough for the day and it was only one in the afternoon. So, with three hours to kill before her brother Michael got home for dinner, the little brunette set out on a walk. And where was usually a good place to be left alone..? A cemetery! Cori knew this well. People don't want to be bothered when they're grieving. And what else would you be doing in a cemetery? Well, besides avoiding everyone. And smoking pot. And using a ouija bord to summon the dead. Don't most horror movies start like that?..
As Cori's thoughts digressed into comparing how different horror movies begin, the path she was on began to turn down a row of very old and worn grave stones. The ground here was even, more even than the rough trail that led up to it from the trees, and therefor she had to pay less attention to where her feet were going. Not having to avoid puddles and tree roots made spacing out a whole lot easier.
The wind blew again and brought with it a gust of cold air from the coast. Cori shivered and pulled the zipper on her brown hoodie up a little farther, covering up her plain black tshirt even more. Her slightly too big jeans were a little wet around the bottom from the walk over to the cemetary, and the wind made the fabric there feel like ice against her ankles. Oh well, at least its just my ankles. That would have sucked if I had fallen. I'd be freezing by now. But she didn't have to ponder this for long for the wind had once again settled and the warm air had returned. This made Corinne think about the coming of summer again and turn back toward the tree line. From here, a little farther into the cemetary, she couldn't make out the buds. But at least I know that they're there. She thought as she continued down the trail. At least I know that I have something to look forward to...
Cori's life was always so predictable. Or at least it had been since she moved to Forks. Wake up, brush my teeth, read, eat breakfast, Math tudor/English tudor, lunch, read... or go for a walk....or go see a movie... or do the laundry.... eat dinner, read, go to bed. Wow. I read a lot. Saturdays are different. I dont have a tudor... but that just means more reading. But now that its warmer..... i can read outside! Corinne smiled to herself again. She wondered if anyone would care if she brought a book with her to the cemetary. I just have to sit at a grave that no one will visit. Seems simple.... No one really comes here anyways... unless there's a funeral. That'd be awkward. Everyone dressed in black and Im sitting on a tombstone in the background with a book in my hand. Corinne giggled. People probably wouldn't notice until they develope their pictures. Wait.. do people take a lot of pictures at funerals? .. I.. don't remember..
And as such, Cori continued to walk, musing to herself.

Above him, the sun peaked out from behind the clouds for a moment before being covered by the endless blanket drifting in the sky. For once, the weather wasn't absolutely unbearable. Not that Michael minded the cold; in fact he preferred the cold to the hot more often than not. That was one of the reasons he chose Forks when given the choice of where to take up residence. That was sometime last year. Michael shifted his weight and pulled his turtleneck up and over his mouth so that his lips didn't freeze. He liked the cold, but he hated being cold. In this sense, he hated snow just as much. It was this nice, chilly overcast that he liked most. So to Mike, it was the perfect day to be outside. Maybe no the perfect day to be in a cemetery, but he'd take what he could get.
He huffed, tucking his hands back into the pockets of his dark gray jeans, and shuffled a little further down the path. See, Mikey had hit a wall recently. He was a writer, and currently was found writing a scene where his main character was visiting the grave of an old friend. Somehow, he just couldn't seem to get the emotions that he wanted to across to the reader. Something was missing. So, finally, in a fit of desperation, the student had decided to take his own visit to the cemetery and see what there was to be learned. Michael himself had never lost someone that meant much to him. Sure, he'd left his parents, but they never connected very well. And he'd had no real friends in school to leave behind when he left, so there wasn't anything there, either. He just had Kaine and Tessa and the rest of the oddballs he now lived with.
Suddenly, a shape moved across the left side of his peripheral vision and he turned his head to see what it was. It wasn't often that he left the safety of his friend's presence, and it made him some what paranoid. No matter though, it was just a girl, not that this made Mikey any less comfortable. His gynophobia had been keeping itself in check lately, but he still was afraid of slipping up. Better to just avoid the hassle of worring, he thought to himself. He slowed his steps and turned to the side, pretending to be staring intently at the grave stone that meant nothing to him. He knew none of the names on the markers here, and probably never would.

Cold. Hadn't she absolutely hated cold when she was still "alive"? Sometimes it was hard to recall these sort of things from a non-human point of view. Everything just seemed so...blurry that way. Almost like lucid dreaming in her opinion.
Of course, weather didn't affect her much anymore. Emily was a vampire and vampires didn't care much for weather besides the sunny days. Sunny days meant being sparkly things that raccoons would run off with if given the chance. That's why she lived in Forks with the "Misfits".
And speaking of the Misfits...Emily took another sniff at the air before a cattish grin tugged at her lips. It would seem Mikey was wandering around somewhere close by. One of her most favorite little humans that had a phobia of women.
With a small bounce in her step, the female scampered off after the human. [color=silver]Oh, Mikey!~"
